Aimee Langlas-Landergott is the Owner, Head Instructor and Artistic Director of Attitudes Dance by Aimee and Andante Performance Company located at 308 East 4th Street in Waterloo, Iowa. Attitudes opened its doors in the fall of 1999. Aimee and her staff offer the community the very best in dance education with a highly disciplined and broad based curriculum. Of the 20 styles offered at Attitudes, Aimee teaches classical ballet, pointe, pas de deux, variations, classical ballet mime, lyrical, jazz, modern, theatre, cardio barre, strengthening, stretching, floor barre and company classes. Under the direction of Aimee Langlas-Landergott, Attitudes students have performed in 5 original large-scale productions at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. A Day For Dancing, The Art of Dance, The Girl Who Couldn’t Dream, and The Night Storybooks and The Magic of Toys were all written and directed by Aimee. She choreographed and directed Andante Performance Company’s production of Loss, Healing and Rebirth as well as the company's 2005 production of Road to Perdition Variations and Rachmaninoff's Concerto #2 . She also choreographed her own version of The Nutcracker’s Act II Variations which was performed by her advanced students at the GBPAC and was accompanied by the Waterloo Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra. Attitudes Dance by Aimee does not put on “recitals”. Aimee prides herself in producing original shows for her students to participate in. She strives to create beautiful productions that the entire family can enjoy.

Aimee began her training in dance locally with Lynda Carr. She began her studies with the University of Iowa Dance Department under the direction of Alicia Brown at age 9 and with the Joffrey Ballet under the direction of Robert Joffrey, Gerald Arpino and Madame Tally. She received her teaching certification at age 17 through the Universal Dance Association in Memphis, Tennessee. At age 20 she received her certification as a personal trainer specializing in injury prevention.

Aimee has performed all over the country as a member of The Joffrey Ballet, The University of Iowa Dance Team, as a member and instructor for The Universal Dance Association, as MA, UDA and NCA State Champion, as MA, UDA, and NCA Midwest Champion, as MA, UDA and NCA top 20 National Champion and in earlier years as Team Captain of the State Champion Columbus Dance Line. She has received over 150 awards for her performance, choreography, and instructional abilities and accomplishments.

By the age of 21 Aimee realized her true passion in life was to teach. She has traveled the Midwest as a guest instructor, teaching at institutions such as Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, Drake University, the University of Milwaukee, Missouri State University, and the University of Tennessee. She has instructed and choreographed for the Columbus Dance Line, the West High School Dance Teams, in addition to choreographing several individual routines perfomed at State and Regional Competitions for the Columbus, West and Cedar Falls Dance Teams. She was the Ballet Director of Kim Ebetino’s dance studio in the late 90’s. Aimee served as Children’s Director in Ballet Internationale’s 2001 & 2003 productions of The Nutcracker. She was also the Children’s Director for The Moscow Ballet in 2002. This year Aimee will serve as the Children's Director for the Minnesota Ballet's Production of the Nutcracker. She has trained approximately 200 students in various roles of the Nutcracker for both companies.

Aimee has continued her education by traveling annually to New York City to train at the Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, two of the top dance schools in America. She has completed intensive studies with over 40 International Dance Masters. Some of her ballet instructors include: David Howard - Ballet Master of the Royal Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada; Natalia Stavro - Ballet Master of the Kirov Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia; Paul Estabrook - Master Teacher of American Ballet Theatre, Nederlands Dans Theatre, Dutch National Ballet and the Julliard School; Emilietta Ettlin - Master Teacher of the Stuttgart Ballet, English National Ballet, Australian Ballet, and Zurich Opera Ballet; Cynthia Harvey - Master Teacher of American Ballet Theatre and English Royal Ballet; Kathryn Sullivan - Master Teacher of the Joffrey Ballet, Boston Ballet, New Jersey Ballet and Ballet Hispanico; Marguerite Wesley - Master Teacher of the Joffrey Ballet and Eglevsky Ballet; Dawn Hillen - Ballet Master of the Eglevsky Ballet; Dorit Koppel - Ballet Master of the Bat-Sheva company of Israel; Peter Schabel - Master Teacher of Harkness Ballet and School of American Ballet in NYC; Andrey Silantyev - Master Teacher and former member of the Moscow Ballet Academy , The Bolshoi Ballet Theatre and many other companies throughout Russia and the United States .

Aimee has trained in jazz with legendary Master Teacher Frank Hatchett; Master Teacher Joe Tremaine; Tony nominated Master Teacher Michelle Assaf who choreographs for Mariah Carey, Mick Jagger and Matchbox 20; Billy Angell - choreographer of Club MTV; Michelle Barber of Broadway’s Guys and Dolls; Sheila Barker - Master Teacher in Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Canada and Europe; Ginger Cox - instructor for Alvin Ailey and New Jersey Nets dancer; Richard Pierlon - Master Teacher for Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey and former Fosse dancer; Slam - choreographer for Madonna and Brittney Spears; Tracie Stanfield - International choreographer and teacher; Pam Chancey - choreographer for Mariah Carey, several NFL and NBA dance teams, and Instructor for the Rock School of Dance. Josh Widick - of the Rock School and Summer Stock performer; A.C. - choreographer of Broadway’s Footloose, teacher at Jacob’s Pillow and choreographer for Jessica Simpson; Doug Caldwell - choreographer of Austin Powers movies; Liz Imperio - Master Teacher and Choreographer for Patrick Swayze, Madonna, Cher, Selena, and Gloria Estefan; Mia Michaels - choreographer for Prince; Jay T - choreographer for Prince, The Time, Master Teacher for Princeton University and Ohio State; Patricia Wilcox - Master Teacher of Columbia University in NY, University of California and Illinois State; Wade Robson - choreographer for Jennifer Lopez, Brittney Spears and N’Sync.

Aimee’s training in theatre and contemporary dance includes study with former Fosse dancer and choreographer Ann Reinking; former Fosse dancer Crystal Chapman; former Fosse dancer and choreographer Diana Laurenson; Joshua Bergasse - former Broadway performer in Fame and Hairspray; Alan Onickel - Broadway performer of A Chorus Line, West Side Story, and many more, also Master Teacher for Alvin Ailey; Skip Costa of Skip Costa Core Movement Project and Director of Southeast Dance Festival; Master Teacher Amanda Turner who served as Assistant Choreographer of Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde, Evita, West Side Story, Beauty and the Beast, Damn Yankees and Helly Dolly; Bill Hastings - Master Teacher for American Ballet Theater and the Academy of American Ballet and past performer of Broadway’s A Chorus Line, Cabaret, sweet Charity, Radio City Christmas Spectacular and Easter Extravaganza. Additional teachers include Amira Mor in Belly Dancing, Maria Torres - choreographer for Enrique Iglesias in Latin, Jhesus Aponte - Puerto Rican Master Teacher in Latin, and Richard Giorla - former Chippendale dancer and creator of Cardio Barre. Serena Soffer - NY instructor specializing in floor barre and Hatha Vinyasa Yoga.

Aimee’s extensive training and experience has allowed her to provide students with the latest and best dance styles, techniques, and choreography. She has trained students who have performed off Broadway in NYC, on cruise ships, in MTV music videos and concert tours, and on college and professional dance teams. Many of her students have also continued their dance education in top rated college programs and have tested into senior class levels as freshmen. Aimee’s students have been accepted into the prestigious companies and schools of The New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, The Boston Ballet, The Cincinnati Ballet, Ballet Chicago, The Orlando Ballet, The Houston Ballet, Ballet Austin, Ballet Internationale, Skip Costa Core Movement, The American Academy of Ballet and Alvin Ailey.

Brianne Wilson
Instructor

Brianne was born and raised in the Cedar Valley (Waterloo and Waverly, Iowa) where she began dancing at the age of four at the Kim Ebetino Dance Studio. There she took classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and was a member of Pee Wee Company.  In 1999 she became a student at Attitudes Dance by Aimeé where she has taken classes in Ballet, Pointe, Pas de Deux, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Theater, Lyrical and Hip Hop.  She has been an assistant teacher and a member of Andante Company since 2002.  She has performed in The Nutcracker with Ballet Internationale in 2001 & 2003; The Moscow Ballet in 2002; and the Minnesota Ballet in 2005 & 2007.  In addition she has performed with the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra.

Brianne has continued her education by traveling to Chicago, Illinois to study with Joe Tremaine; to Hammond, Louisiana to study with Skip Costa; to Duluth, Minnesota to study with the Minnesota Ballet Company; and to New York City to train at the Broadway Dance Center and with Finis Jhung. Some of her instructors have been: Ballet: David Howard, Natalia Stavro, Paul Estabrook, Dorit Koppel, and Robert Gardner; Jazz: Frank Hatchett, Joe Tremaine, Tracie Stanfield, Michelle Assaf, Doug Caldwell, Liz Imperio, Wade Robson; Tap: Germaine Salsberg, Betty Morrow; Theatre, Hip Hop and contemporary dance: Skip Costa, Adrian, Brian Green.
